IELTS success tips for Band 7 and above in Academic and General Modules
Listening:
·
Find the
meaning of every new word you listen. – Always try to use the dictionary online
or offline to search the meaning of the new word. Always be ready to read the
new articles in newspaper. If, you are in India, use the Times of India which
is the best newspaper ever for the IELTS learner.
·
Listen to
English news/movies/cartoons. – Try to be a part of the TV channels. Be used to
watch those things with witch you are very much familiar. Create interest in
such a matter which will help you to learn more English. IF you are very much
interested in history than do not try to understand science as far as possible
and concern to IELTS. Your favorite subject will make you very much comfortable
in your subject. Be ready to learn something new every time.

Know all
punctuations used in English language. – This will be learn by daily routine
and by using the great people articles which are written in English. Use the
grammar book of the lower standard to learn the different punctuations. The
proper use of punctuations makes the meaning to the sentence else the same
sentence shows the different meaning.

Recheck
punctuations twice. – This is very much important to recheck the matter twice
in respect to punctuations.
Reading:
·
Find the
meaning of every new word you encounter while reading. – As mentioned in the
listening, always try to learn some new words daily from the newspapers or from
the magazines or from the online portal. Try at least 10 new words daily to
prepare. That may be from any stream. Those words will be certainly so
important in day to day life. Also concentrate to learn the synonyms of those
words as well try for other words.

Read
English articles. – Read English articles in loud as well with understanding of
the meaning. Those articles may be from any of the stream. As discussed in
listening section always try to learn different topics to have great vocabulary
to appear in exam. The simple the language the easy understanding.

Read
instructions very carefully during exam. – The most important thing is to read
the instructions given in the questions. Be careful by reading the
instructions. All the instructions are having their own meaning. If, you
consider this in your own way than it is possible that you are doing wrong. The
questions are asked in such a tricky way. The instruction which you learn in
your school time is not the same which you are going to face at present in this
exam. All the questions are having the different spelling with different
meaning.

Do not
reread what you already know. – Do not
reread the matter which already known by you. This will be the wastage of time
and unnecessary disturbance in the routine of the exam. You are not going to
learn there, you are just appearing the exam. Understand the important of the
time. Focus on your questions. Do not leave a single question without the
answer. There is no negative marking.

Give more
attention to proper nouns to understand the passage(s) better. –

Be prepare
with different grammar topics prior to exam. Refer the books of the lower
standard which will help you to understand the different topics and make you
comfortable to appear fast and accurate.
Writing
·
Increase
your general knowledge. – Try to be the best writer and the best reader. Till
you are not reading or watching the different topics you will not be able to
write in depth. You much have an idea that from where to start and what to add
in. This is require GK more. How you get GK? Use, Television, Internet,
Newspapers, Books, Public dealing, Your Interest etc…

Understand
clearly, the difference between essays and type of letters. – There are many
types of letters as well essays. There are many books available in the market
as well on the internet. Try the material as much as you can. Discuss the
matter with different people. You must aware of the different topics for which
one has to use to write the letter.

Learn
phrases and use them frequently. – The grammar topic is required as we have
discussed in the above para. This make you perfect if you prepare for this.
This all you can get from the different books.
·
Avoid using
conjunctions where not necessary. – Some people are having habit to use the
conjunction unnecessary and some are trying to convert their mother tongue
words into English which is wrong. More the conjunctions more confusion.
·
Know all
punctuations and use them at the appropriate place. – This is already discussed
in above modules. Try to be familiar with all the punctuations.
Speaking
·
Be calm and
be formal. – This is better to be calm before the examination. Do not take
stress prior to exam. Give your speech on such a easy way. You can consider the
videos uploaded on you tube. Use internet to learn more and more.
·
Watch and
listen carefully to English news and interviews. – Make habit to watch English
News and movies as well drama. Be updated with the current topic. Spend the
time with television.
·
Ask the
meaning of every new word you encounter. – Either ask or check the meaning of
the new word in dictionary.
·
Speak with
confidence. Use simple words with their correct pronunciation. – Speak like a
gentle man does not hesitate to make your view clear. Be simple and calm. Be
relaxed. Be honest to yourself at the time of speaking preparation.
